E. Allen Reeves, Inc. is one of the most experienced long-standing construction firms in the region. We have close to a century-long reputation for quality and technical excellence within the Mid-Atlantic Region. We service our clients by building on our foundation of Integrity, Attentiveness and Quality.
We approach each new and existing relationship with the goal of exceeding our clients’ expectations. We achieve this by producing the highest quality in our finished products, quality competitiveness, safety, exceptional craftsmanship and having great employees.
As we continue innovating as a company, we still maintain the same foundation of values advocated in 1918 by our founder, E. Allen Reeves: integrity, trust, quality workmanship, value, and safety – delivering responsive service to our clients and a great workplace environment to our employees.
Our commitment to delivering meaningful client service is one of the reasons we have developed long-term partnerships with so many of our clients. The collaborative partnerships we establish together are based on accountability and a shared definition of success, creating a cooperative project environment that sets the stage for success. Our honesty and transparency are the pillars that support these partnerships.
Our preconstruction approach is based on an open & collaborative process aimed towards protecting and maximizing the owner’s financial investment. Frequently, decisions made in the early stages of the project can have a major impact on the project’s overall value. Our experienced and intuitive preconstruction experts ensure our clients have the information they need to make informed decisions, maintaining the project’s overall program while controlling its costs. We go beyond procurement and installation, analyzing the complete life cycle of a system for financial and environmental sustainability.
We drive the schedule through comprehensive early planning, enforcing accountability among ourselves & our subcontractors, and carefully managing project milestones. The Lean Construction Institute’s Last Planner System (LPS), a standardized weekly jobsite meeting for planning & tracking schedule milestones, helps us accomplish these goals and has been an invaluable tool on our jobsites. While the Superintendent conducts the LPS meetings and manages the day-to-day tasks on site, the Project Manager ensures all the necessary resources are in place to maintain forward momentum. Our clients and design team partners are able to track progress in real time using our project management software, a web-based application accessible from any computer or portable technology.
We are committed to making sure all our workers, and our subcontractors, get home safe when the day is over. Safety has been ingrained in our company culture since 1918 and continues to be a priority today. Our in-house Safety Director, supported by our internal safety committee, oversees all of our mandatory employee safety training and implements new industry safety developments & standards. He also conducts regular unannounced inspections of all job sites to ensure compliance with the project’s customized safety plan.
The success of our internal safety & risk management programs is easily demonstrated through our recent recognition: In 2013 and 2009 we were honored with the top National Safety Award by Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC), out of 24,000 firms nationwide. We are active in ABC’s Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter, and are proud to have received their Safety Training & Evaluation Process (STEP) Award, at Gold or Platinum Level, annually for almost fifteen years. All of these achievements are reflected in our excellent Experience Modification Rate (EMR). A safe jobsite is a clean, efficient, and productive jobsite.
Our projects are designed to last for many generations, so we build them with long-term performance in mind. While often used by companies to describe their own products or services, we believe quality is best assessed by our clients. At the beginning of every project, we strive to understand how our clients measure quality, applying their metrics to our performance to determine the ultimate level of our success. This is why our strength lies in our ability to plan, commit and execute a project management approach that consistently delivers highest-quality results, ensuring the best overall value for our clients while respecting the architect’s design intent.
For almost a century, Reeves has been dedicated to maintaining a highly-skilled, efficient and effective carpentry force whose attention to detail and trade mastery sets the bar for our industry. Our ability to self-perform gives us a unique edge in delivering value for our client that helps them further their long-term program goals. We are committed to marrying time-honored trade principles of precision, accuracy and quality with the newest tools, technologies and innovative Lean Construction strategies. It is this commitment, coupled with our ability to unleash the natural ingenuity and inventiveness of our employees, that ensures we remain industry and market leaders.

E. Allen Reeves, Inc. was founded by its namesake, a motivated young carpenter, in 1918 in Abington, PA. Mr. Reeves spent years honing his building skills in the service of a local builder, working primarily on nearby residential projects, and continued working in this market after establishing his own firm. The company also undertook larger projects, for instance the construction of Huntingdon Valley Country Club in the mid-1920’s, and had achieved a reputation of excellence that allowed them to continue working through the Great Depression soon after. The post-war mid-century building boom spurred the firm’s continued expansion and allowed growth into new markets and territory. Today, Mr. Reeves’ grandson, Robert Reeves, Jr., serves as the company’s President. The firm continues growing, while members of the fourth Reeves generation are actively engaged in its future after following diverse paths in related industries. While E. Allen Reeves, Inc. remains active in the local Greater Philadelphia area, its area of operations extends throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region.
A building is only as good as the people who built it. Our employees come from diverse backgrounds, bringing a variety of philosophies and problem-solving approaches to their work. One thing they all have in common, however, is a shared commitment to upholding our corporate values: integrity, attentiveness, quality, and making our firm a great place to work for everyone. We have always attributed our success to the talent, motivation, and dedication inherent in our employees, and seek to provide them with a supportive workplace environment in which they feel empowered to achieve their highest potential and ideal work-life balance. Because we invest in our employees, many of them have chosen to spend their entire careers with us – take, for instance, the project manager celebrating 41 years with Reeves, or the Vice President who began as a carpenter on our field crew over two decades ago. We are proud of their accomplishments and look forward to the success of our next generation of leadership.
Continuing education is crucial to ensuring our employees remain at the cutting edge of their respective fields. We encourage our employees to seek out such opportunities, ensuring that they have the resources necessary to pursue them, while also mandating specific training & certification for certain roles. Our management team is always willing to work with junior employees to map out a career path that enables them to achieve their long-term professional goals while continuing to contribute to the overall success of the company.
Through our direct actions as a company and by empowering our employees to do likewise, we have shown a commitment to supporting charitable events & associations for almost a century. In addition to financial sponsorships, our firm also donates materials, equipment, and manpower when appropriate. Many of our employees, including our senior management, are actively involved with local & regional organizations, and are fully supported in their efforts.
We invite motivated individuals to consider joining our talented team of construction professionals, including local students seeking full- or part-time internships. We encourage applications from skilled estimators, project managers, and superintendents, in addition to experienced carpenters, accounting & business professionals, clerical staff and those trained in the latest construction technologies. Our robust benefits package includes competitive wages, ample vacation time, generous insurance & 401(k) packages, and more. Contact us today to discuss how your skills and the Reeves company culture could be a winning combination for your career.
